Seasons Chapter.....2 poems

Wonder of Nature.


I strode down to the Forest,this bright and chilly morn.
Then stopped and watched with pure delight, as a baby lamb was born.
The ewe she looked on anxiously,to check her babe was well.
The nudge and licking she performed,so full of love, my heart did swell.

The little lamb made a wee cry,I thought my knees would buckle.
So silently I squatted down, as this scrap of life began to suckle.
How wonderful that Nature is,to put on this show for me.
For if you were along by my side,I'm sure you would agree.

When the baby lamb felt brave enough, it wobbled to its knees,
I sat and let the morning sun, fall on my face between the trees.
Then as the lamb gained confidence, it tried it's legs to stand.
Until it mastered the natural skill, oh this really did look grand.

The look of triumph on its tiny face,was as plain as plain could be.
It made a little bleat, as if to say,"Oh Mam.please look at me".
How wonderful that Nature is, to put on a display like this.
It lifted my spirit,heart and soul, that Nature's show I did not be miss.

The Lonely Sparrow


I'm just a lonely little Sparrow.
With no-one to share my life.
From the start of the Spring Season.
I've not found me a wife.
Each day I sing and call out loud,
But my song is never heard.
As I twitter from the rooftops,
For a Sparrow female bird.

I have a place awaiting.
Where we could set up home.
All cosy in a roof top eave.
No need to ever roam.
There is food around aplenty,
that I would gladly share.
Yet my life remains so empty,
no wife is waiting there.

I bounce about all full of fun.
In a hope a mate will see.
That all her life, her mate is there,
Lonely little me.
Yet, still I'll sing loud and proud,
From the rooftops crystal clear.
In the hope a lonely lass flies by,
And will join me waiting here.
