New Year Resolutions

New Year Resolutions


So many things to do this year.
Now that 2011 has come.
I've made a list of resolutions.
Though I know I've broken one.
You see, I tend to stay up late.
Which isn't very good.
For when the morning comes around.
I feel like a lump of wood.
Yet writing is my hobby.
Though not always words of rhyme.
I like to fit a story in,
When I have a bit of time.
But these words they fail to come to me.
Until the end of day.
When I can sit alone with my thoughts.
Then transfer them to my laptop straight away.
I think this 'resolution' is best confined to the lower ranks.
And join the list of others tried, and give it my hearty 'thanks'
For if I'm to write again once more, the way it comes to me.
I need to see the midnight sky, and let my thoughts roam free.
