Poems by friends: 5 poems.

REMEMBER THE TIME

This hour, this one right now
this hour of minutes, seconds, passing by
Is where I am, for now.
I have been to other places
I hope to visit more
But for now this hour, ticked and counted
this breath, shallow then mounted
Has all of me within it.
All memory of experience, pain
shared dreams, fantasy, fallacy, reality
concentrates here.
My thinking ticks the beat as memory
becomes past, more so than the experience,
for it is now twice removed, or more.
Enter and leave, each time a little
different from the last.
Oh! this past alters with my mood.
One event has a brace of outcomes.
They transverse, reverse, disperse.
This hour, this one, right now,
will pass as you did
and what was real becomes a memory to mould and shape
at will, and, like your last kiss,
has all of me within it.

The following poem by Laura was wrote for the occasion her son's marriage.

A Mother's Love.

I loved you as a babby
And held you in my arms
I yearned to keep you warm and safe
Secure from all lifes harms.

I loved you as a wee bairn
Running in the park
Laughing with the joy of life
Safe from all thats dark.

I loved you as a teenager
Though sometimes you was bad
Playing music very late at night
Shouting at me and dad.

And now you are a grown man
And I am proud of you
You’ve chose a lovely wife to wed
And I know that you will be true.

I wish you every happiness
As you start married life
A good kind man you have become
With a beautiful loving wife.

And I hope that God will bless you
As he blessed your dad and me
With happy loving bairns
To complete your family.

Fluffington wrote this:-
The stunning flowers that have sprung to life
The workers who've let go of all their strife
The birds that tweet their merry songs
The squirrels that sadly no longer belong
The bees buzzing round for a little nectar
The tourists that travelled from near and from far
The boaters enjoying the big wide lake
The children devouring a 99 flake
The ducks messing round on their still clear pond
The lovers laugh sharing a special bond
The runners building up a sweat
The footballers playing for a bet
This park is such a special place
That slows down a persons normal pace
Relax and chill and just have fun
In the beautiful park in the beautiful sun

Also by Fluffington.

Raindrops make the dark streets glisten
Thunder makes people stop and listen
Lightening flashes in the dark night sky
Strong beating winds make the babies cry
Animals scarper for somewhere to hide
Terrifird adults lose all of their pride
Storms bring terror to each and their own
Only safe do they feel within their sweet home

Another by Fluffington.
We are off to the zoo today,
We all can't wait, hip hip hooray.
The picnic's packed, we've gone to the loo
We're on our way, a big woohoo.

Waiting at the gates to get our tickets
I wonder what animals like to eat Crickets.
We are through the entrance and the sun is out
It's now time for us to roam about.

The Lions pad around their cage
Roaring at children who are being so brave.
The tigers too like to scare the mites
Till they all run away with a touch of the frights.

The Hippo has fun playing in the mud
When it lays down we hear a great big thud.
The Zebra meanwhile is lazing in the sun
Suddenly it stands and has an almighty run.

The Monkeys just want to fool around and play
They wind each other up and make a mess of the hay.
The Meerkats look cute standing on their hinds
You've really got to wonder what is going through their minds.

The Giraffe's have such thin long necks, they can reach up to the trees
And when they want to sit down they have to get down on their knees.
The Penguins swim around all day, splashing and sploshing about
They are surrounded by lots of water, so never suffer a drought.

These are some of the animals that we saw today at the zoo
Big ones, small ones, strange ones, and then we left, boohoo.
The journey home was a sad one, leaving them all behind
Lots more people there tomorrow though so I'm sure they all don't mind.
